Downwind Series

Racing

Doyle is dedicated to Faster Downwind Sails. Richard Bouzaid has worked extensively with Judd Smith, Dave Curtis, Robbie Doyle, Mark Ploch and the whole Doyle Team to produce designs that have dominated their classes, whether it's a symmetrical runner on a Beneteau 36.7 or a class asymmetrical on a J105, Doyle Downwind Sails are winning at all levels.

Symmetrical Spinnakers:

With all of the recent developments in asymmetrical spinnakers lately, it's easy to forget Doyle's conventional symmetrical spinnakers. Building on past developments with geodesic fairing, recent developments have been accelerated by enhanced CAD software and analysis tools, resulting in even faster spinnakers.

Doyle Sailmakers offers 4 unique spinnaker molds: VMG, AP, Runner (designed for windward leeward courses) & Blast Reaches (designed for reaching legs).

Asymmetrical Spinnakers

Doyle's APR line of asymmetrical spinnakers is adding a new dimension to reaching and running. Coded according to the midgirth percentage versus the foot length, Doyle's line of APR spinnakers cover the entire range from broad running to tight reaching, allowing you to realize the full downwind potential of your boat. Doyle Sailmakers offers 5 unique Asymmetrical Spinnaker Moulds.

Code Zero
Range: 38-55 AWA, 0-14 AWS

The Code Zero is the smallest asymmetrical spinnaker allowed by the IMS rule. This is a specialty sail built out of high modulus materials for light air cracked off to close reaching, this sail will dramatically increase your performance.

APR 70
Range: 50-80 AWA, 0-15 & 12-22 AWS

The APR 70 is the smallest asymmetrical spinnaker allowed by the IMS rule. This sail is for you if you are looking to dramatically increase your close reaching performance. The APR 70 comes in two weights for different wind conditions: APR 70 for 0 - 15 knots AWS and the APR 70H which is built out of heavier cloth for reaching in heavy air 12 - 22 AWS.

APR 80
Range: 75 - 90 AWA &  3 - 20 AWS

The APR 80 is slightly flatter than the APR 90 and has less girth accordingly. It's to be used as an IMS/PHRF reacher. This sail is for you if you have a less stable boat that accelerates easily and want improved reaching capability.

APR 90
Range: 85 - 165 AWA &  5 - 25 AWS

The APR 90 is a fuller design for better stability and performance downwind. The APR 90 is for you if you have a stable, powerful boat and you want to improve reaching capability.

Racing

APR 100
Range: 95 - 165 AWA &  10 - 25 AWS

The APR 100 is designed to be as stable as a symmetrical spinnaker, yet incorporates a unique shape distribution that allows the sail to fly out to weather, away from the mainsail. This APR 100 is for you if you have a stable, powerful boat and you want to improve broad reaching to downwind capability.
