Sail Handling Systems

Sail Making

Modern day advancements in sail handling systems have revolutionized the way we cruise today. Our boats are bigger, faster, safer and easier to handle than ever before.

At Doyle Chesapeake, we know what systems work and how to match them to your sailing needs. We can counsel you on what, when and how to upgrade. We can also handle the project for you from beginning to end.

Some of our most popular sail handling systems include:

Genoa Furlers: We handle a full line of furlers and provide, install and stand behind the products we sell. Our preference is the Schaefer and Furlex furlers.

Mainsail Luff Systems: The Luff Systems we offer include tracks from Harken, Antal, Frederickson and Strong Track from Tidesmarine. For boats under 45 feet we believe nothing compares with the function and economies of the Strong Track.

In Boom Furling Mains: This once exotic system is becoming commonplace. There are many fine systems on the market, but when it comes to performance and ease of handling for boats 40 feet and up, we haven’t found anything that can match the Leisure Furl System.

In Mast Furling Mains: This has been a proven set up for years. Doyle has added a new twist with its new “Zenith” vertical batten main. Utilizing full battens in the furling main, we have added shape and performance to the traditional furling mains for added ease in sailing.

Stack Pack

StackPack Handling Systems: Doyle has been the leader in mainsail handling systems for 20 years. Over the years we have refined our construction and materials options so that, today, our StackPack works better than ever. Team a StackPack with a Strong Track and see how easy it is to enjoy sailing again.

Dutchman System: The Dutchman mainsail handling system has been a solid performer on offshore and inshore boats of all sizes. When installed and set up properly, the Dutchman system makes reefing and raising and lowering your main a simple task.

Free Luff Furlers: A relatively new advancement for cruisers, the free luff furler, is vital for Doyle’s UPS and other light air sails. We have used the Harken and Facnor furlers with great success and find they offer short-handed cruisers a way to sail in light air and downwind with a greater level of control and confidence.

Storm Sails: Doyle Chesapeake has developed a custom line of simple and effective storm sails that can be deployed quickly and easily without removing your working sails - a must for any serious offshore cruiser.

This offers some insight into the most popular sail handling systems on the market today. If you have a special project, call the experts at Doyle Chesapeake. We’ll help you set up the proper system for your yacht.
